HISTORY

R&S Budds Ltd has been trading since the early 1970s. Roger Budds started manufacturing injection moulded food and water bowls for cage birds, from his garrage on a hand operated moulding machine.We still manufacture items for cage birds, although the machines we use are modern and fully automatic.

Scott Budds started a tool making business after working as a tool maker specialising in jigs & fixtures and multi stage progression press tools for the electronics industry. In 1996 the two businesses took the natural route and merged to form R&S Budds. From this time we have been able to grow and widen our areas of skill. We would describe ourselves as manufacturers and our main line of business aims to provide companies with the components which they may require manufactured from metal, plastic or a combination of both. We look to the future to try and perceive industries needs. The largest threat to Manufacturing In the Uk comes from China and other countries with little or no employee protection such as health & safety and no minimum wage. We aim to compete against such challenges head on by increasing productivity through training and modern manufacturing techniques and equipment. We try to source as much of our materials and equiptment from with in the UK to provide support for others with in the UK.
